## Description

Levana Oma Sense Portable Baby Breathing Movement Monitor with Vibrations and Audible Alerts Designed to Stimulate Baby and Alert Parents : desertcart.ae: Baby Products

Review: Ok, my special tiny princess will always be my baby, but she's 4 now. When she was a newborn I didn't see a point to this kind of device. We had an Owlet style one (probably an Owlet but it's long gone) from the baby shower and it got regifted after a year. I should have kept it. When she was 34 months she developed what was called "reactive airway syndrome" by the asthma clinic at the Children's Hospital. Basically, she got three nasty viruses all at once, twice. I can't remember what was first and what was second. If I'm correct it was Flu, RSV and Pertussis (even though she was vaccinated) the first time. The second time was another three. Both times she ended up with pneumonia and was in the hospital for a total of 19 days. The thing is, after the first admit they thought she'd be fine. We went home for four days, but then started to slow down. No major signs of anything, just slow. We were getting her ready for bed and I went in to check on her due to just having a bad feeling. I put an adult 02 monitor on her and she was in the 80s. We made a decision to go straight to the kids ER. They argued about if to admit her at all among a whole bunch of professionals and then the one actually at the bedside started jumping up and down saying to take her to PICU right away. If we had slept through the night and not checked on her there's a high likelihood that she wouldn't have survived the night. This device would have helped then. Now, it provides peace of mind for parents who have told their baby it was ok to pass if she needed to. You see why I don't care if people hear me call her my special tiny princess. This gadget is in the just in case category. But for us, it might be worth the world some day.
Review: This is a pretty near gadget that monitors your baby's breathing. It works well, the alarm is loud (I tested it out on my husband first to make sure it works). I clip it onto my baby's pants without any issues. It relatively small and doesn't feel cumbersome to use either. It's also at a much cheaper price point than an owlet. We're happy with it!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why can’t I use Oma Sense while my baby is in a swing or car seat?**
A: Oma Sense detects your baby’s abdominal movements. Additional movement from a swing, car seat or similar setting will affect the device’s ability to properly detect if your baby’s abdominal movements have stopped.

**Q: Why is Oma Sense not recommended for babies over 6 months old?**
A: Around 6 months, when babies start rolling or playing with the monitor, it's best to stop using Oma Sense. When they sleep on their tummy, it may not detect abdominal movement well, leading to false alerts.

**Q: Do I need to charge my Oma Sense Battery?**
A: No! Oma Sense includes a Panasonic 3V CR2450 coin cell battery that will last up to 30 days based on normal usage. Oma Sense let’s you know with a solid red light when the battery needs to be replaced.

**Q: Can I connect Oma Sense to my phone or Levana Video Baby Monitor?**
A: Oma Sense, a stand-alone abdominal movement monitor, operates without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, eliminating the need for smartphone or separate Video Baby Monitor connection. For enhanced alert audibility, pair it with a Video Baby Monitor.
