Review: Excellent product. I used these to hold down some woven "plastic" ground cloth around 2 newly planted trees. The points of the staples are sharp and went through the cloth easily. I spaced them about 20"-24" apart. I used a rubber mallet to hammer them in. I think I could have pushed them in by hand but since I used all 20 I decided to spare my hands. We have had a couple of windy days since and the fabric is staying in place on the side of a windy hill. My husband liked them and asked me to order some for him. I recommend the 12 inch staples and will definitely buy more if I plant more trees
Review: I wanted 12" long stakes to anchor a large pair of metal egret statues in our yard. The male and female figures were 45" and 43" tall, respectively, with "bird legs" and thin metal toes, to look like the real birds. That makes them relatively unstable, and in need of some method to anchor them in place. They came with one metal anchor for each bird, which was much too short to be effective. These Pinnacle Mercantile stakes are long enough to hold the statues. I used 3 stakes for each foot, but as I had a pkg of 20, that was not a problem. I little mulch covered the feet and stakes, so the silver color of the stake versus the bronze color of the statue was not an visible. I could easily drive the stakes into the ground with a hammer, as they are made of heavy gauge metal and not at all easy to bend. I looked at the specs for a lot of garden stakes/staples/anchors on desertcart, and these looked like what I needed in terms of length and strength of material. Others appeared to be too short or too easily bent. And keep it in mind that the lower the gauge number for metal wires, the larger their diameter. So 9 gauge is thicker than a 12 or 14 gauge, for example. Seems counter intuitive, but that is the system.

**Q: Can this be used to hold down chain link fencing?  My dog escapes under it.  Would these work?  If not, any suggestions?**
A: Trust me, yes!  I rescued a Black Mouth Cur in July 2020.  We were in a constant battle of intelligence!  Every way I came up with to stop him from escaping, he would one up me!  I swear you could see his mind working to figure out a new plan.   As long as the fence is very close to the ground,  these are almost undetectable.  I started with 50.   I'm buying another bag just to have some extras.  You won't be sorry!!

**Q: Can these stakes be hammered into hard clay ground without them just bending?**
A: I have combination soil - extremely hard clay and dirt and had no problem putting in these pins. Used a rubber mallet or stepped down on them. Excellent for my purposes.

**Q: Hi, will these secure a trampoline?**
A: if you are talking about securing the legs . I suggest using at-least 2 per leg for added security measure.  12 inches are pretty deep. 
I use them to secure my heavy duty Christmas lawn ornaments which are pretty heavy. Hope this helps!!!!

**Q: How wide are these staples?  I want to secure to the ground 1 and 1/2 inch pvc piping I'm using to protect garden hose on a driveway.**
A: these are 1 inch by 11 long  they can be easily rebent to your pype size.  that pype size is a large bump in the drive ,  is it paved or gravel?  if gravel use your rototiller and make trench for the larger pype and remove the hose in the winter .  if pavement secure the pype with strap clamps to the pavement then use a few bags of drive way patch to  make the bump less .

Work well. Bought to pin down a 'dig fence' we're putting around our backyard to keep our two new adult rescue-lab/hound "diggers" in. Our soil layers are of topsoil, then soil w/natural rock bits for about 2" then clay. With the amount of force the guys were putting into hammering the lawn staples in, the 9 gauge staples would bend if a rock was encountered. They were tough to get out if the rock was in the clay layer. Some of the staples were bent too badly to reuse: of 180 - 12 were discarded. The length is a big plus for us. Its supposed to rain this week - we'll see if they rise up with softened soil The dig fence is a wrap of 2x4" 14 gauge wire mesh stapled to the lower portion of our wooden privacy fence, pushed in to hug the lower fence section & extending across the ground 2 feet. We're using these long pins at the 'L' and in a V pattern at the edges & midpoint on the ground.
