The size and durability is key to me. I'm ol school so I take notes and write standing when permitted. The cardboard thing in the notebook is really a bright color so it looks like i bought a cheep notebook. (but that doesn’t really matter) Also the end pages of the notebook looks wet? when it came in it looked like it has already been ruined. Not only that but the pages were stuck together as if they glue was put in between them? and it left a mark (obviously). In the picture the notebook looks blue and white but when i got it, it looks white and gray or dirty green. I am an avid fountain pen user who keeps all of his noteworthy ideas in a single notebook (until full) and also takes that notebook everywhere. All I need are 4 qualities I have never before, crazily enough, seen in any one notebook: (1) FOUNTAIN-PEN-FRIENDLY PAPER; (2) HARD COVER; (3) B-5 OR SEMI B-5 SIZE; and (4) DOUBLE WIRE BINDING.First, the paper is smooth; I have not experienced any feathering or bleed-through or show-through; and I can easily write on both sides of a sheet. Fortunately for everyone reading this review, all FP-friendly paper works well with pencils and other pens. Second, the hardcover and double-wire binding allow me to write on-the-go and anywhere, with or without a desk or table. The notebook does not have to lie on my lap open and unwieldy, taking up 16-plus inches of space: it can be "folded" back on itself. Third, the B-5/semi B-5 size is a perfect Goldilocks size for me—neither too large nor too small. On top of all that, the paper is bright white, which flatters the various ink colors I use. The ruling is Goldilocks 7mm: not too narrow, not too wide. It has two front pockets. And it's affordable.No matter what kind of writing utensil one uses, this is a great notebook.
