Review: The sandbox was delivered in two days and did not disappoint! It came together quickly, was made of quality cedar wood and is easy to open and close by our three-year-old granddaughter. It isn’t waterproof but kept a lot of water out. It seems very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this sandbox!
Review: It does the job its meant to do, but don't expect it to last for generations. Easy to assemble. For the customers who are complaining about fit and gaps, I figured out they assembled it wrong. Follow the directions and you'll be fine. Folding lid keeps cats and critters out but is light enough my two year olds can easily open it them selves. Its perfect depth for about 200 lbs of sand and still allows easy in-and-out of kids. My only complaints are material quality. The lumber is not the highest grade but so far its held upto the abuse of my three kids just fine. YES it will split during assembly if you over tighten the screws. Just be cautious when putting it together and you'll be fine. Also, put some time into making ground level. Any wrap in ground will cause distortion of box's square and put too much stress on joints. So far the only thing to break are the hinges of the lids. I knew this would be the first to go. They are cheap. I bought some higher grade ones from big box store for a couple bucks and problem solved.

A: we got 6 bags of play sand from home depot and it's plenty

A: The seats fold down for a cover.
Caution-mine has a remaining gap down the middle so small animal feet could get caught and it definitely will let in precipitation. I'll have to tarp the top after all I guess.

This sandbox was relatively easy to put together, but the durability isn't great and I'm not sure it will survive past this season. Its VERY soft wood, the included screws stripped out in many of the holes without every the slightest bit of resistance, and one of the backrest pieces split while I was putting it together (hopefully some good wood glue will hold it). Its a nice size for my 2yo and the plans and design are exactly what I was looking for. If the seat piece hadn't broken then the folding seat/cover is a perfect fit for our home with neighborhood cats! I put 250lbs (5 bags) of sand in it, 200lbs may be enough. My daughter thinks I'm the best dad ever for buying/building it for her though, so as long as she's happy and it makes it one season I'll make other plans once this one bites the dust!
