While it heated up quickly and overall it looks like it's well made, I wish it opened up a bit further, as well as the main issue I had with it. My hair is coming back from being severely damaged, so I did appreciate that there is a large temperature range on this tool. The plates, however, stop at the edges with some of that actual straightener bordering the edge. The result is that every glide through my hair had pieces caught and rip out. I think if the plates were a bit longer and overlapped the edges, I would have gone from not being able to use to loving it (I can live with it not opening up as far an angle). Bottom line is that I passed on this tool.
