It is a 7/16 arbor. So, I order two of these from an orange colored home improvement store as this kit only give you one and it gets stuck in the hole saw. Plus the one it gave ended up with a broken drill. I wanted to be able to use both hole saws (one for the lock and one for the deadbolt) without a trip to a bench vise to hold the hole saw while wrenching the single arbor free. The arbor (one end goes in the drill chuck and the other end goes in the hole saw) always gets stuck in the hole saw and you need a bench vise to hold the hole saw while wrenching the arbor out. Now I just leave them in the hole saws and save time. **Q: will it drill the wholes for the deadbolt? t drill for the deadbolt too?** A: Deadbolt hole is the same size. You just do another set of holes where you want, typically above the knob, and install the deadbolt too. **Q: Will the Dewalt instillation kit work on door thicknesses?** A: The answer is that you can technically clamp it on to a door up to 2 inches thick, I measured it precisely. HOWEVER just because you can clamp it on the door does not mean it will work properly. This jig is sized to help you drill the standard holes for 1 3/8 and 1 3/4 doors. For me I already had the hole for the deadbolt drilled. I only needed to expand the hole for the 2 1/8 inch housing hole in the outer door. **Q: Does this have a jig/template for the door hinge?** A: When you say door hinge, do you mean the brackets that attach the door to the frame and allow a door to swing open and shut? No, I don't believe it has a template for this because it's meant to be used to cut a hole in your door to install a handle and mechanism for locking the door. I saw a video that shows there's an Irwin version that comes with a hinge template.
