Part number 2992 is the 2s completer pack, the hoss will go about 40mph. Or part number 2994 the 3s completer pack, this will make the hoss reach it's top speed of 60mph. **Q: How long does the batteries last per charge?** A: The batteries don’t come with the Hoss so any answers to your question are all subjective. The correct answer is your results will vary based on the battery you are using. The LiPo battery can have cells configured in “2S” (less power) or “3S” (max power). LiPo batteries have various discharge ratings (discharge rating is a rating for measuring capability to discharge the battery to the Hoss and provide “punch” or torque) such as “25C sustained, 50C burst” or 50C sustained, 100C burst” and anything in between or lower or higher (generally, the higher the discharge “C” rating, the better & the more expensive the LiPo, purchase the highest discharge rating you can get). Traxxas doesn’t provide multiple discharge rate options for the same battery generally so if you buy Traxxas LiPos, you get what they give you. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the answer to your question lies with the “capacity” which is rated in “mAh” or “milli-amp hours”. The higher the mAh number, the LONGER your LiPo will run the Hoss. You can buy 1000, 3200, 4000, 5000, 5200, etc, etc, mAh LiPos and generally everything in between (those numbers are just a few examples of what’s on the market. The quality of the LiPo and it’s materials play into this answer as well. You can buy cheaper, made up brand name that doesn’t make any sense from Amazon’s sponsored list in a search, poorly marketed and supported LiPos that cost 1/3 the price of a brand name and the LiPo may have good results (generally the results are mediocre and decline fast over the life of the LiPo). Or you can buy brand name (lots of them out there besides Traxxas, although Traxxas LiPos are of good quality with an exponentially higher price tag that shouldn’t even make them competitive… thank the local hobby shops for that though since they are compensated highly for pushing Traxxas everything), quality material, quality build process, quality wiring, possibly even “graphene” LiPo which will not and can not be “cheap” and it will likely last for a long time and produce excellent results each discharge. This may not be the answer you were looking for but it’s the only answer that’s right. There are a scary amount of “experts” with all of the answers to your questions delivered without an ounce of doubt in the RC hobby especially that are 100% completely incorrect and not even in left field, they are in the parking lot missing the game.. I’ve never heard a hobby shop employee say “I’m not sure about that, let’s look it up or talk with my coworker, Joe Expert, who’s been heavily into RC since the 70s.” They will always quote what the manufacturer told them or what they read in a forum without verifying accuracy or questioning their source.
