Everything is operating on DC. The fan can run up to 22V at 1.67 Amps (their spec says up to 14.6V but in order to have 40W power it would need 2.8 Amps. You will need a low voltage temperature switch. The thermostat switch recommended by J. Glasser only works for AC fan models, not solar powered DC fans. **Q: Can this get wet? Weatherproof?** A: I mounted it in the roof gable vent and covered it with the slotted vent cover, so it doesn't get wet unless the rain is horizontal. Anyway, the motor burned out after two years. I don't recommend this product. I'm going to remove it and install a hard-wired electric attic vent fan. **Q: Has anyone gauge the attic heat tempreture reduction as a result of using this?** A: I did not measure the temperature difference, but it did not seem to make a difference. The fan does run quite strong so I suspect that it does pull heat out of the attic (that is, after you reverse the fan in its shroud so that it blows outward). However, I was very disappointed, after the fan motor completely died after two years. **Q: What is the warranty?** A: warranty for a year for the fan,5 year for the soalar panel, totally take responsible for damage or lost in transit.
