The author puts all lessons in simplistic language where even the beginning novice can make headway. The CD gives me the exact rhythm, note-for-note, and even some "how to not play the notes". It also has several video helps that will come in handy when I make it to the covered material. I am enjoying practicing with my chanter now more than ever. The revision takes out some of the, shall we say, archaic wording and adds new material that gives an understandable reading to the lessons - along with new sponsorship advertisements. I have already begun learning my first song too. The Bagpipe Tutor has helped me be very optimistic about being able to fulfill one of my longtime dreams, that is, playing the Great Highland bagpipes.EthnicSounds.com has a lot of great merchandise at a very good price. I perused their website and they are one of the best priced sites for a lot of bagpipe, accessories and other Scot, Irish merchandise. This book "the Green book" is the best one to have and is VERY inclusive.I've used it as I practiced on my new chanter a bit, and enjoyed the "strait forward" approach to learning that this book offers.
