## Description

Transport a single canoe or kayak from the parking lot to the lake easily and hassle free with our Canoe and Kayak Dolly. It is designed to hold a canoe/kayak by the hull in a V-shaped cradle with 3-1/2 "L foam bumpers on each arm. Cradle arms are connected together with a 13" nylon strap to prevent the cradle from opening too far.

Review: This works great, exactly what I needed. I walk 1/2 mile to the lake, the first 1/4 on payment, and the second 1/4 on a semi-rough trail. This is the ticket to transporting your kayak. The price was right on this version, I don't know what could be different on the ones costing 2 or 3 times as much. But be warned, there are no instructions at all. Simply the pieces in cardboard shipping box, no "product" box. The tires came very under inflated, so you will need to take them and have them inflated before using. As everyone else notes, the tires do smell, but the smell on mine went away quickly. (The box retained the smell worse than the tires did, so discard it quickly.) I wasn't even sure what should be the front or back. I tried to look at pictures on-line of people using similar ones, and it looks like people use them both ways. After reading suggestions, I ended up putting the legs in front, so they will fold backwards. As far as connecting the kayak using the strap, As someone else pointed out, the easiest way to strap the kayak on is to start by setting the kayak on the cart, lay the strap across the top of the kayak with the end hanging down on both sides, run each end through the tube/side of the cart underneath, and then bring both sides of the strap back on top and fasten the clip on top of the kayak. Once fastened tightly, I have had no problems with my kayak falling off, even on fairly rough terrain. However, if I pick up the back end of the kayak, the wheels/cart will collapse down, so be careful there. Also to make pulling it easier, put the kayak on the cart about where the seat is, or just a little ways back of the center of gravity. It will work fine if you put it towards the back of the kayak, but you will end up supporting more of the weight when you pull it. Ideally, you want the cart to support most of all the weight, with you supplying the forward motion. I also tried one of the kayak/SUP over-the-shoulder straps, and that didn't work well at all. The cart works really well. Highly recommended if you have to carry your kayak any distance at all.

This cart is built sturdy and has a solid wheel that doesn't need to be inflated so no worry about flat tires. I'm using this cart with a common 10' Pelican kayak that weighs 39 lbs. This cart is very light and stows well in the kayak with the wheels off. I put the strap on the front of the cart and it holds very well unless you try to back it up over a bump. I wrapped the tie strap once around the round tube on each side and it held well. Two straps would be better if you expect rough terrain. I positioned the cart so that the kayak was just a bit front heavy and it is very easy to walk with. I read in some reviews people say the strap is inadequate but I found it fine for the intended job. I traverse over park lawns and gravel roads at worst. If I needed a second cart I would buy another one of these.
