The only negative we have found is that there is little arch support so that tends to make the feet sore after a few hours of serious walking. We purchased inserts and that alleviated the majority of that problem but a note: that will most likely make them a bit more snug, especially in the toe area. Happened for us so we purchased a half size larger. If you have a chance I'd say try them on in store as the MTE's sometimes have additional insulation as it is and tend to fit somewhat smaller than expected. I am an outdoors person and need a versatile shoe to keep up with my versatile life. These are the perfect shoe; from walking on the beach, working 8 hours, hiking a few miles with my dog and general daily life, this shoe never gets uncomfortable. I love they they are well-insulated and waterproof and the high-top is the best part.
