The only con is I wish the steps would stick out a little more but I can see why it is made the way it is because it does make the ladder stronger. The rails make it easier to climb up and down and it seems very sturdy and easy to move although it is a little heavier that I thought it would be but again, glad it is heavy/sturdy.
