Review: I've missed these so much - I used a pair of these for years when I was younger. I got sick of replacing the cable (which you will have to do every so often if you use these headphones heavily) and regrettably replaced them. These are lighter, far more comfortable and built better than the budget JVC headphones I've been using for the past several years (model no. is worn off, they were highly recommended for the sound quality to price ratio, but those JVC's were creaky, which I lived with but won't miss at all). Best of all, the sound quality is better, especially on the mid to high end and these aren't even broken in yet. Lastly, these are now almost half the price I paid over a decade ago for the same headphones and I'm pleased that they're still made in Europe (Romania).

**Q: Truly good for monitoring with a flat response?  In other words, not ideal for consumer music listening?**
A: I'm a DJ and producer and I guarantee it is an excellent headphone, very good for both studio monitoring and also to use in events, its smothering and impecable is a very comfortable phone

**Q: This are the same as the sennheiser hd25-1 ii?**
A: You can go opt the HD-25 or HD-25 Plus to get the same product as the HD-25 1-II with many updates.

**Q: What materials are the ear cushions made of? Are both pairs the same?**
A: I certainly hope they have the velour that you swap on. I love the velour. Yes, for just a few weeks they hurt while breaking in, but only for a very short time when they are brand new. They have a break-in period, so your ears hurt if you have them on for hours when they are new. And then they mould to your ears, and they are the MOST comfortable. For YEARS of heavy, heavy wear. I bought mine in 2011. It is now 2017. And I have accidentally:  sat on them, stepped on them, got them stuck in the metal parts of a recliner chair! They have been accidentally crushed under heavy books, sweat-soaked during exercise, and almost anything else you can probably imagine. Almost every day something dire would happen because I used them for hours and hours and hours. And 6 years is a very long time!! I may get the protective case, because I would have gotten more years from them! These are the best and most durable, and that's not just my opinion. And there is no phony bass. If you want to change that, there are easy ways to get add-on bass. The mid-range is beyond awesome. Anyone who lives and works with music should have a pair of these. And if you treat them more kindly than I did, they will outlive your new puppy! They are STRONG. In every way.

A: Newly designed headband ends ensure that the earcups lock securely into place, while lightweight aluminum voice coils ensure an excellent transient response. With a frequency response of 16 to 22,000Hz, an impedance of 70 ohms and a maximum SPL of 120dB, the HD 25 lends itself to any monitoring task, whether broadcasting, live recording or in the DJ booth. The HD 25 comes complete with a screw-on jack adaptor to 1/4" inch (6.3mm) for its straight steel cable.

I've been really happy with these both as DJ headphones and for heavy everyday use while gaming. When I originally got the package, it was so light, I honestly thought the headphones had been stolen and I was holding an empty box. No...they are just that lightweight. I've worn them for hours without any discomfort. These are phenomenal as daily drivers.
