The first answer is correct. You have to set the camera to open the shutter even when there is no lens, then adjust everything manually. As he says, as long as you make all the adjustments yourself, it works, just as all cameras worked back in the 1960's. For me, that was too much trouble. So I got a lens that works with the camera. The Sony made Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS is a low cost prime with the best rating for clarity from Dxomark and it also has the OSS which very few prime lenses have, so it's the obvious choice **Q: I just purchased this adaptor for my Minolta Maxxum 7000 lenses to Sony a6000. The A lens mount is still the same today, but some modifications have been made to the electronic contacts to facilitate new functions such as motor zoom (xi lenses, now discontinued) and a more sophisticated flash metering system (ADI). I don't know if Fotasy or any other maker produces an adaptor for a the "A" mount lenses. If you want to use this mount BUY A MINOLTA Rokkor MD LENS. They are found on eBay for very little money and are very, very good lenses. They are manual lenses so you will have to do the focussing yourself! **Q: Would this work on a A7 without being cropped?** A: Hi - Just double-checked a couple of OM lenses on my Sony a7r using this adapter. I want to make sure I'm completely understanding the question: if you're asking whether there will be any vignetting of the image, the answer is no (except to the extent that a specific lens shows some light falloff at the edges, but that's not an adapter issue, and you'd have the same phenomenon on an OM film body). If the question is whether or not the image will be cropped (using the term to refer to the so-called "crop factor" associated with smaller-than-24x36 sensors): again, the answer's no. OM lenses are full-frame lenses, the a7 is a full-frame body - so no cropping of the image.
