I can't confirm in my research that it is a source for vitamin D. Do you have a sight I could use?** A: I have used Nordic Naturals D3 Vitashine. as a Vegan D3I simply googled lichen , and mushrooms for D3 health and found several sites. I alternate with D3 from 'sheep's wool lanolin' Yikes, I know. :-) My holistic dr. was good with the Nordic Naturals. He did have me on the lanolin kind to raise it from a low level at the start. He also highly suggested eating more mushrooms.I am still researching myself about D3 sources. **Q: Can you tell me more about the vanilla flavor in this product? Is it real vanilla or lab produced flavor intended to mimic vanilla?** A: The vanilla in this product is more likely NOT sourced from castoreum. Castoreum is derived from beavers, a practice which would not being considered Vegan nor Kosher. Since this product is both vegan and kosher, it stands to reason that castoreum is not the source of the vanilla flavor. **Q: This is a great price, is close to the experation date?** A: The expiration is farther our than I expected when getting the item.
