**Q: I have tilled the yard do i need to add a top soil before ez seed**
A: Hi James, there's no need to add soil first, but if you do, you will want to make sure that the new soil is mixed in with the native soil before applying Scotts EZ Seed Patch & Repair Sun.

**Q: will this grow in middle Georgia?**
A: I would think so, we planted it in North Houston which is further south than middle Georgia. I am stuck in Texas and a Georgia Lady and I would use this anywhere in Georgia, we took a gamble in North Houston, Texas and was amazed at how well it held and grew. I would use this product again.

**Q: I know this prefers 60-80 degrees but will I get any growth above 80 degrees? My lawn looks terrible and I'm desperate for even a bit of growth.**
A: I planted in the spring and started seeing grass just after a week. It did not survive after consecutive days in the mid 80's. I started my regular water routine by then. There is a low laying area where water water runs too. That area did survive 5-6 days of 90+ degrees. Water management is the key.

**Q: I have Bolero Plus (90 fescue - 10 bluegrass) it does well in the sun but not shade, will this mix blend in with my Bolero yet work in the shade?**
A: Hi Matthew, typically bluegrass, ryegrass and fescue type cool season grasses can all be used together. The exception to this is when using tall fescue because it will have a different growth habit and size then the rest of the cool season lawn types. We usually don't suggest using tall fescue in a bluegrass, ryegrass and fescue lawn unless it is a tall fescue lawn to begin with. If you don't already have a tall fescue lawn, we recommend using Scotts® EZ Seed® Patch & Repair Sun and Shade.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Crab grass... the uncomfortable type of "grass"

I have crab grass that's been filling up our entire backyard ever since we bought our home seven years ago. Crab grass grows fast and is an invasive weed. Because it's weed, I learned that you can slowly kill crab grass by watering less often and deeper into the soil so that only good grass' roots can get water. With that in mind, I wanted to put that knowledge to the test by ripping out some large portions of crab grass from the back yard. (TIP: water the soil a bit so it's easier to rip the crab grass out) Once the ground was bare soil, I loosened it up a bit and pulled out any remaining crab grass/dead weed. Next, I sprinkled this Scotts seed (Tall Fescue grass) onto a small section to see what would happen. NOTHING GREW. I was disappointed. Then I read the instructions on the packaging: 1. Spread the seeds/fertilizer into the ground 2. Loosen/turn the soil 3. Water daily as needed to keep the soil moist for the first 2 weeks I changed my sprinkler to water every 2 days for 5 minutes. End result? Grass grew after a week, and now it has increasingly become fuller! See photos for the results! Once the grass has grown acceptably, I will change the sprinkler system to water less frequently again (but deeper through cycle soaking) in order to starve the crab grass weed of water and to help the new grass establish deeper roots. SUMMARY: water often in the first 2 weeks to help sprout the new grass. Once it's established, water less frequently (but cycle soak) so the new grass grows deeper roots.
