We tried the nail polish and other things to stop her quit this habbit, but it did not work. As for these gloves, she initially removed it quickly and would suck her thumb. We tried applying cellotape on the gloves so she wouldn’t take it off at night. Weird, but she quickly learnt that she could simply sleep without sucking her thumb. Later we would just put on the gloves at night during bedtime. She is 4 year old and finally after about 1 1/2 months of wearing these gloves she has quit the habit of thumb sucking.
