It works well as an insulator as well..my ice pack still not fully melting even after 10 hours. It keeps my groceries and water or drinks cool during the hot day. **Q: What else is it good for but picnics?** A: I used it when I went on holiday and took frozen food in as was in self catering accommodation, it was still frozen, in fact when I broke down on the m4 coming back there were still frozen items when I got home 12hrs later!
