If you have the tie very tight, the release tab material seemed not stiff enough to release from the teeth because the tab is tightly "biting/engaged" into the teeth, the release tab/arm would "bend". If not very tight, it does release easily. On the positive side, it is very secure! On the negative side, the security somewhat defeats the purpose of the release tab (if you have it pulled really tight). So, I think for general purpose, it performs very well. Overall, it is good product. I would buy it again.

**Q: how to unlock/open this Zip Ties?**
A: Hello . There is a button on the product to unlock it. It is easy to operate. Very convenient

**Q: Why are some people saying these don’t hold and come apart and others are saying push the lever and it locks? Has this product been updated?**
A: I bought mine about 13 months ago they seem to work fine not sure what they meant by push the lever to lock them it’s just the opposite the little lever you push to unlock them and then you can slip them right off and reuse them.  At least that’s the way they work on the ones that I bought 13 months ago.

**Q: Can they be cut to a smaller length and still function the same?**
A: Yes they can, they may be little harder to start as you will have cut off the smooth, thinner, tapered end but they will work.
