This clearly states in the listing/ description, that it is sofa depth (which I didn't even know existed & was thrilled to find). It fits my space so much better, & looks more like a sofa, than a bed. I got red, because that was the only color Amazon had left & I didn't want to wait indefinitely for it to restock. I like the red color way more than I thought I would. It is a rich, true, almost blood red - not an orange red (which I hate). The medallion pattern is darling & I also love that the slats are wood, & so far, don't seem to creek. It is NOT easy to assemble. This is the second daybed (with a metal frame) that I have assembled, & while this was 'slightly' easier than the other daybed I put together, I would not say it was easy as others mentioned. It took myself & my elderly mother 2 full hours to assemble. Now, for the bad - the packaging/ box this arrived in was torn apart, had a large hole that someone tried to tape back together, & was missing a screw & a bolt. I still assembled it, but now need to hope Home Depot carries something compatible as the bolt, in particular, is a vital piece (to hold a side arm on). The frame itself was also scratched up fairly badly, which will need touch up, but luckily the frame itself was not bent. Another reviewer mentioned how terrible the packaging was, & I agree. It needed more padding (not just plastic) between the metal bars. All that said, I am not going through the hassle of returning it. I will touch it up, & hopefully find replacement bolts. Once assembled, it looks awesome - I am really happy with the 'sofa' size, style, & color. You will need a cot sized mattress for this (not a regular twin). I ordered a custom size foam mattress from Fortnight Bedding (on Amazon) & the perfect size for this frame is 76 inches long & 33 inches wide. I got a 6 inch depth, which I'm happy with. The 6 inch doesn't come up as high in the frame, so you can still see much of the great medallion pattern.
