I have used many papers over the years sticking with Epson Photo Luster as my everyday run of the mill printing material. I really noticed an improvement in quality with this Ilford paper and black and white prints. Either the tonal range is longer with the Ilford or the blacks are blacker, but for the slight extra price, well worth it. Color must also be better but I don't notice that had quite so much an obvious improvement as with the B/W prints, although to be fair have not laid color prints on both materials side by side. That way I am sure I would see there is a difference. This Ilford paper is probably comparable to some HahnemΓΌhle FineArt papers at a much lower price. In the end I guess you have to try a box and see if it meets your own personal requirements. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome print quality -- not for everyday snapshots *by V***T on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2011* I love this paper, even if it is on the expensive side -- I use it with my Canon Pro9500 Mark II for my best portrait and fine art photos.With the custom printer profile for my printer, I'm able to get accurate colors with this paper.The paper has a slight, silky sheen to it -- not too glossy; the texture is much more subtle than Ilford's gallerie smooth pearl paper (which I also like). This paper is a bit heavier and stiffer than Ilford's gallerie smooth pearl paper.It's a bit too expensive for me to use for everyday prints, and I wouldn't recommend Ilford's Gold Fibre Silk paper unless you have a high quality printer to match.But the overall quality and feel of the paper is so nice, I think it's worth the price for my occassional special prints. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Should say DYE bbased inks not supported. *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2013* I went to the Ilford site to download ICC profile. Gold fibresilk wasn't there. I e-mailed support. That's when I found out I wasted 60 plus dollars. This should be stated upfront. I know all you "experts" will tell me it's my fault. I know I'm just an amateur.
