However since I installed it leaving the unit turned completely off, I never noticed that it leaked gas internally if the unit was left in stand-by with the pilot turned on. After weeks of troubleshooting and repeated re-installations, I was finally able to ascertain that the problem was the unit, not the installation.I called Pro-Com and they were completely unhelpful. By that time the 30 day return period was over. The seller would not take it back. I called Amazon, they intervened with the seller on my behalf. But when the seller emailed me the message saying that they would indeed take it back, it went into my spam folder and I didn't see it for weeks. Further messages from me have been ignored, and that's how it ends.Yes indeedie, some of the problems turned out to be my own fault. But I post this review as a heads-up to potential buyers. If you buy a ProCom heater, hook it up immediately and make sure it works properly. If not it will be cheaper to buy a new one than have a plumber come in to replace any faulty parts in it.It's currently in use now. I leave the pilot turned off. That makes it more energy effective anyway. I would normally give this unit a 4 star rating. I have one just like it in my workshop that I'm very pleased with, but spend the extra money for one with the built in fan.
