A happy camper!
Shipped fast. I'd been looking for a Wireless Digital Remote to use with long cooks. The convenience factor was my motivation. I did my "home work" and decided that a Bluetooth model would not provide the range that I wanted/needed. After I "stumbled" across the Famili Wireless product I read the reviews and was somewhat conflicted. The product had some stellar reviews but then I noticed that a majority of the reviews I read were written by customers who had received the product for free or at a discount for an "unbiased" review. Reading some of the product reviews "cons", i.e. can only adjust up and not down etc., I did have some doubts. In the final "analysis" I decided to trust that the incentivized reviews were sincere. That and the low cost pushed me over the edge and I decided to give it a go. The product was as represented. I found the instructions clear and easy to read. My first cook using the FWDR went smooth. I was able to be in all rooms of my home and receive grill and meat probe temps. I've used this on a total of 4 cooks and plan on using it on a lot more. I am happy with my decision to purchase and will recommend the FWDR to family and friends.4/1/2017 Update. Lost count of the number of cooks I've done with the FWDR. It is still working great. Thought I'd add a couple of pictures of my last cook.

Buy something else! - Issue resolved, excellent customer service
I bought this thinking I would save some $ and you get what you pay for. The transmitter part works good but the wireless receiver is constantly not picking up the signal and show no information. I've replaced the batteries with new ones and still the same problem. Has not worked right since day one.Update on this review - I promptly received a refund for the defective device and have to say that they have excellent customer service and stand by what the sell.

Works well, good buy, two improvements needed
Product works quite nicely. Two things I would like to see improved. First the instructions nor the transmitter have any indication on which plug is for the meat thermometer and which is for the environment thermometer. Only the picture on the box provided the necessary information. Second, there is no bag or box to store the devices other than the shipping box. Range and accuracy seem good.

Functional
Functional, appears to give proper temperatures for both meat probe and cooker. Operating instructions are a little frustrating. This product does seem to be lightly built, I hope to get more than one season out of it. Follow up review, one year later. Unit still turns on & talks to the remote. Unfortunately temperature reading is off by at least 40%. No longer usable.

Great unit, with one serious flaw
I'm actually pretty impressed by this little unit. Works flawlessly and has fantastic range. Love that you can see the temp from both probes at the same time. A couple gripes. First, the screen kind of sucks. It fades dramatically when viewed from an angle, so that when I put the remote down, I have to almost always pick it up to see what it's reading. For instance, if I kick back in my reclining lawn chair and set it on my leg, I can't just look down and see the screen because the angle is too great. Have to pick it up to see it. Not a big deal, because you can just set the alarms, but still, it's a gripe. 2nd, and more seriously, there is no battery indicator on the remote, and when the batteries start to go, the only indication you'll get is that it will start missing updates from the base unit. I finally realized this was a problem the other day when cooking a tri-tip. I like to pull my tri-tip off at 123 degrees. Set the alarm and went about my way. I was sitting no more than 10 feet from the grill when the alarm went off. I got up immediately, walked to the grill and the base unit was reporting my tri-tip was 138 degrees, waaaaay more done than I like it!!! A minute or two later, the remote updated to show the temp at 138 degrees as well. So basically, when the batteries start to go, the updates get a little sporadic. With no battery indicator, you have no clue when the batteries are starting to get weak, so to me, that's a relatively serious flaw. The only reason it got 4 stars is because I'm impressed with it, especially for the price, with the exception of that flaw, and you can of course work around that by just using recharable batteries and putting them in fully charged every time you use it. Still, how hard would it be to build in a battery indicator??

A Good Product
I got this as a gift for Father's Day and I'm very happy with the results. While a sensor that transmits to my phone or tablet via bluetooth sounds nice, I prefer a dedicated appliance for keeping track of my BBQ and food temperatures.Pros:* Dual temp display for BBQ and food probes* The device is programmable to alarm above or below certain thresholds of food/BBQ temps* The range is great. I with my BBQ in the back yard, I can go anywhere in my house without losing the signal.* Battery usage. Only now am I changing out the original batteries that came with this product.Cons:* Programming the unit can be confusing until you do it a few times. Read the directions.* The probe cables could be a little bit longer, but it isn't a problem for me and my Weber 22" grill.

Just bought another one of these to give to my brother for Christmas!
This thing is awesome. More accurate that the one built into my oven. Love the remote feature. Indispensable for delicate cooking tasks like getting expensive roasts (and even thick steaks) perfectly cooked rare/medium-rare edge-to-edge without being raw in the middle. Hint: grill steaks to get grill flavor and then roast at 250 F until 139 in the center. Roast larger roasts should be first brought up to room temp and then roasted at 250 F until 121 in center and then let sit covered outside oven until center temp quits rising. At any rate, the beauty of the remote is you can set preset limits and then work on the computer, watch football, or whatever while your meat cooks until the remote beeps. Doesn't get much more convenient than that. With this unit anyone can easily cook expensive meats to perfection with just a little bit of online studying.Oh yeah, and it's perfect for smoking meats as well!
