But I would be willing to bet these m that these contain more coconut than the traditional almond that is in Bakewells. That said, these do taste very nice even if they have that coconut texture and slight flavour. Moist, sweet with a slight stickiness and a visible jam layer. Jam flavour is less dominant than we expected from other reviews. In appearance they look like they could be Bakewell slices with the cake top and thin pastry bottom, albeit lacking in any visible almond flakes!
