In the summer, I like to have a more natural look to my hair. It tends to get frizzy if I don't add a bit of hair product to tame it, especially if it's hot and humid and I perspire. I have coarse hair, so it can be pretty stubborn. It's best to add the control I need before it dries. That way, the curl sets better, which means that it's going to maintain better. My hair also cannot be too soft, so I use something to set it along with this oil. Sometimes I mix this oil with a setting lotion or gel to give my hair additional control.The scent is not bad, but it may be a bit overpowering if too much oil is used. Depending on hair type, the oil may need to be used closer to the ends rather than throughout the hair. I don't care for an oily scalp either, so I avoid getting it too close. The oil can be used when my hair is wet or dry.The heat of the sun can turn your hair to straw. I used it over the weekend when it was very humid and my hair didn't frizz up at all. I have thick, medium length, coarse hair that tends to be a bit dry due to the coloring every 4 weeks and the use of a blow-dryer twice a week, flat iron and curling iron every day.. I've recently stopped washing and only use cleansing conditioner so I was worried that this oil may leave a build-up but it did not. At first I was a bit disappointed by the small size, only one ounce, but a little goes a long way and this will last quite some time, especially considering you don't need it every day as long as you don't wash every day. I used on my wet hair after conditioning and then followed my usual routine, blow-dry, flat iron/curl.
