I did not notice any tightening effect on my skin, what I did notice was after almost continual use my skin seems to feel drier. So I don't know if it's my skin or the product. I do like the fact that it absorbs rapidly and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily or greasy. I have also been using a small amount in my hair which makes it easier to comb throughout the day.
