We started with only lower, single number values, gradually increasing difficulty; this game is easily adapted to the individual. Initially we used counters to match up with the cards. This gave visual reinforcement, increasing physical understanding of written number connections. Written numbers alone can seem surreal, physically handling objects made them real. We also made our own cards, increasing possibilities as skills improved. Superb game for the entire family... which becomes greatly competitive when against the clock to 'beat your best!'.
