Be sure you have some wood glue and clamps on hand when you build them on a flat surface. The quality of the wood is excellent and we hated to paint over them, so we white washed them instead and put a polyurethane over the white wash to protect it and make them washable. But you can paint the door by yourself. **Q: Can this be installed as a pocket door? I read the thickness and height of the door and it will fit but I wasn't sure if it can hung as a pocket door?** A: You would have to cut it down. The door is 84” and most pocket doors are 80”. I had very bad luck with those doors after a month or so they started to warp and shrink really bad that they became unusable for me. I don’t recommend them to anyone **Q: Can this door be painted?** A: Yes it can be painted. I used leftover interior paint that was used in another room and it turned out great. I’d recommend using a 4 inch roller so the it looks smooth.
