We just got (2.5 weeks ago) a rescue who was a stray. His teeth had what looked to me like weird gray mounds at the back of the molars. He would not let us brush his teeth or come close to putting anything in his mouth. At first we tried the regular, hard teeth cleaning chews. He liked them fine, but those seemed to just be a fun chew for him. We then decided to splurge on the OraVet Chews, which, granted, were quite expensive, but we were hoping to at least stall the progression of dental issues that he appeared to have. Our dog loved them, and treats them like a high value treat. They appear to be semi-soft when he bites down, so his teeth sink into the chew (as opposed to the more traditional, very hard tooth chews that just seem to crumble and are consumed quite quickly). Within a week of starting these we noticed that his teeth appeared whiter, and we could no longer find the gray at the back of his mouth. His breath also improved greatly. I will keep upgrading with the past days. He have a really bad smell like fish in his mouth but the first day it was almost gone, the bad breath. I like that it came in individual packages. He ate them in less then 10 minutes. Is a little pricy, but if it works and help him to have a good dental hygiene.
