Very strong. More strength than we need for our dog, who doesn't really pull, but we wanted a carabiner clip. The spring in the clip broke after a couple of weeks but the seller was quick to replace it free of charge. Our other dog chewed the heck out of it. Kind of bummed about that because it was brand new and now it doesn't look very nice, but that's what our dog does. Several strands were broken. Even with those broken, it's still plenty strong. I walk 3 dogs at a time and am constantly untwisting the leashes. With the swivel, I can just twist and for the most part, they straighten out. The down side on the leashes are two things: the caribiner is not the best quality, sometimes they don't snap correctly, etc. Secondly, I like the braided leash, but the knot at the end is rather large and like I said, with three of them, it is a lot. I think this large knot also makes the leash a little shorter than a regular leash.
