I purchased both and prefer these over the Flents Flite Mate as they fit my ear better. If you expand the photo for both you can see the design differences. Which works best will depend on individual preference. **Q: Why can you only use them once?** A: The little pad inside the tube is designed to allow a certain amount of air pressure through. The EarPlanes are intended to allow a longer time for your ears to equalize to the ambient pressure. After the flight, this pad becomes wet from sweat and full of ear wax, thus not being able to fulfill it's functions. You can easily use them for 3 flights, but I wouldn't recommend using the same pair round trip. The pair is good enough for one way, no matter how many connections you have. **Q: I have flights from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Hong Kong, then Hong Kong to Beijing. Can I use the same pair for all flights** A: Yes. I normally only wear mine for 2 flights, but you can use them longer. I would suggest you take them out for a while when you reach altitude. I think the problem is that they get dirty, and the dirt/ear wax will hurt performance. **Q: how many times can you use them before they have to be replaced?** A: They recommend 2x, so one round trip flight. Mostly because of their design. They are designed to keep your ears open & popping (which they do a wonderful job of) so there are grooves where bacteria could grow. I use them every single time i fly now.
