Check the machine right away upon arrival; the machine could be damaged due to poor protection during the shipping.
Updates a year later:A storm had led a couple days of without electricity. I used the generator to power the fridge, boiler and heater , and a few lights. I have to say it runs great after I fixed the airfilter box. It is quiet. I placed it 20 feet away from the house and in the upstair room opposite to the machine with windows closed, I can only barely hear it running. I loaded the fuel full and it still had half of the gas after 10 hours of running. Rate it four stars from two.Original review:The package was received five weeks ago. I did not open the package right away because of the good name of Briggs and Stratton brand. First snow coming the next day, I decided to open the package and have a test run. A 10+ cm linear damage was noticed in the package and I started to worry. Opening the package I noticed the air filter was off its position; the metal bar connecting the air filter to the frame was deformed. The cover of the air filter had a 10 cm linear split. Some free plastic pieces were scattered in the air filter box. It was more worrisome when I found some engine oil on the sponge in the air filter box. The plastic bag was also stained with engine oil. I checked the engine oil bottle coming with the machine. It was not leaking and the machine's oil plug was tight. I had no idea where the oil was from. I turned it on and it ran okay. But the source of the engine oil was my my biggest concern and I have to wait and see. Because it had been over 4 weeks, the machine could not be returned. I have to live with it. There were no foam cushion around the machine. The machine is only protected by the thin carbon box. That is a problem.

Amazing generator. Do as instructions says and walllaaa. So quiet i was impressed my air compressor is 3times louder. I powered up a few things before hurricane Irma everthing was excelente. Thanks again for the prompt shipping.

the product arrived on time and in an undamaged box ...
the product arrived on time and in an undamaged box ... however the product itself was damaged. after emailing seller they suggested I contact Briggs and Stratton themselves and have it fixed. took it to an authorized dealer/repair place and Briggs and Stratton refused to fix the damage under any warranty as the box itself was not damaged. It was however a factory defect and they apparently they do not stand behind the products they manufacture when something goes wrong when they are built. I will never buy another product with a Briggs and Stratton motor on it again. .... so much for American greatness in manufacturing ...

This generator is awesome!
I bought this powerboss generator with 5250 starting Watts and I received it with a broken air filter cover and I called Amazon and told them about it and to make a long story short they gave me a complete refund on this product because they said it was not returnable and so I fixed the air filter cover, and this generator works beautifully, it's not loud at all, and it's very quiet, and it's very easy to start, and it produces great power.I have an old 1.5 horsepower oiled air compressor and this generator will start that air compressor when the air compressor is cold with no problems this generator is awesome.The only complaint I have is that I wish it had some rubber feet underneath the frame so that way when you have it on a concrete floor or in the back of a pickup it doesn't rattle as much. And I wish it had an idle up switch so that way I can start bigger appliances without having to manually idle it up. And I don't like the way the choke barely moves I wish it had more of a joke span but it works great anyway.This generator is awesome! I love it because it has 4 household Outlets, it starts really easy it's not hard to start at all, it runs great and is very quiet and produces a lot of power. And I'm really impressed with Amazon customer service for giving me a full refund because it was broken.Thanks Amazon and Power Boss!!

Great Generator!!!
Excellent generator, as expected. Will Not disappoint! Starts right up easily. Performs very well. Not as loud as my older unit! Good on fuel consumption too... Has lots of snort!
