Well, maybe 1 when I forced it onto too many pages--it wasn't fond of closing tightly after that. 40 means 40, not 52. 4) They slide right off when you do that on purpose--and do not mar the paper at all. 5) The dispensers, in all their colors or clear, are easy to use and reload in a flash. And they keep the clips from cluttering the desk with loose (or tangled like paperclips) clam clips. 6) The clips also come in 5 colors beyond just the stainless silver.
