They are also more comfortable in my mouth. AO says that the latex-free version applies comparable force to the teeth, but to me they don't feel as tight as the latex version. I don't want to slow my progress. Some studies have shown that generally, non-latex elastics suffer from force degradation more rapidly than latex elastics. So it might be especially important to change the non-latex elastics at least three times per day. Please talk to your orthodontist for specific instructions. I will be asking mine about the differences between the two.
