When I put them on an IKEA HUGAD rod (1" diameter), I lost 5" of coverage on each panel. The total effective coverage was only 74" (37" each). **Q: I never bought curtains...and I need help. My window is 46 inches wide. Would the sizing of this product work to use 2 pieces in one window?** A: As a rule, when doing curtains, you should plan on doing at least 1.5x the width of your window (69"), up to 2.5x wider for really full treatment (115") . I purchased multiple pairs of these for multiple 36" windows, and while two panels per window will work as interim while my final curtains are being made, I'm not sure you could do a 10" wider window and be happy. For your width, you probably want 4 panels total, to get a nice full look when they are closed. **Q: Are these curtains lined and if so with what material?** A: They are not lined and they are not really "black out" curtains like you would have in a hotel room. If you need true black out curtains look elsewhere. **Q: Anyone wash these to get the prefold lines out? Do they bleed at all on delicate? Or, if I just hang them will the fold lines go away?** A: Anytime you have something that is new with dark colors and you are afraid of the dye bleeding off of the fabric, use white vinegar. Go ahead and put it in your washer on the delicate cycle and add your detergent with about one cup of white vinegar. It will take the excess dye out of your material but not harm it and the next time it won't bleed. Make sure to wash it in cold water and then I would dry it on low heat in delicates for about fifteen to twenty minutes. That's how I always wash all of mine and then hang them up slightly damp. I've never had any problems with them.
