The leather is sturdy enough to protect the camera, but can be molded easily to ensure a perfect fit. It's very well finished and the grained leather helps to provide a good camera grip and to my mind it definitely improves the look of the camera. Users of the x100 will know that battery changes are frequent, and the battery flap means I don't have to continually remove the case to replace the battery or card. The side buttons are not obscured by the case so everything is accessible. The case screws into the tripod mount and is threaded so that tripod access is maintained. The included strap is adequate, just pity it wasn't just a little bit longer for my needs.
