They hardly stretch if at all. Prompt delivery. Hard to find a good bungee. Go Heavy Duty or check your local hardware and try it out. Once out of packing off gassing is bad but expected with country of manufacture. I think a bungee in my limited knowledge should stretch at least a few more inches if not 2/3 it's length. No budge on these. Too hard to send back as packing is ruined and came in a manila padded mailer. For instance, the 18" model starts out 19" tip to tip and can only be stretched to 25".
