PureGuardian FLTDC humidifier Demineralization Filter, Cartridge #1, is easy to use. It helps to prevent the release of minerals (white dust) into the air. It simply screws into the humidifier tank and will last approximately 1,000 hours. This all depends on the condition of the water you are using in the humidifier as well as run speed. It is still recommended to clean your humidifier often, based on the Manufacturer's Instructions. It is recommended to use with the PureGuardian Models H1510, H1610, H4610, H4750, H4810, H5450 and H8000B

Review: As described - I used to have one in my humidifier and then I tossed it because it was old. I started using distilled water so it didn’t matter but am now using the humidifier more and buying distilled water is getting costly so I went back to using this. I use filtered water but it still has a lot of minerals in it. This must work because I’m having no residue. I bought the previous one once because I had a lot of the white, dusty residue. This stopped it. It works well and I certainly recommend it.

I need winter humidification and I have pets which can complicate the air and be hard on even "appliances." I replace this every 2 months in mine (during seasonal use) and it has eliminated any white dust and even that musty odor that can develop. Also use the aquafier sticks in the tank and replace those monthly.

**Q: Does this fit venta sonic vs 205?**

**Q: can this be used on the H4610?**
A: Although not listed for the H4610, cap is the same as the one used on the H4600, and it does fit my H4610.  This prevented calcification for several months using well water, which saved the cost of using distilled water.  The service life of the filter probably depends on the hardness of the water.  It has significantly reduced buildup from the minerals in my water in in the months since.

**Q: My landlord broke my dehumidifier just after i bought this new filter. what products currently sold on amazon does this filter fit? please share links**

I own a pureguardian™Ultraonic Humidifier H4500. I was using tap water and noticed an accumulation of white dust on many plastic surfaces around the house including the dvds inside the player. I switched to distilled water and the problem went away. I ordered this decalcification filter in hopes that I would save money from buying distilled water. I installed the filter as resumed the use of tap water and the white dust problem came back just as before. I am returning the filter as is does not work at all. I have found that the "Water Filling" machine at my local wal mart uses reverse osmosis which works great in the humidifier as it does not produce any white dust, and the price per gallon is extremely reasonable.
