I chose this because it's a laboratory, chemical resistant type of PVA and most bleach is only a 5% solution so I wouldn't be afraid to use it for bleach. **Q: can this be used with the inside tube removed?** A: Yes, the tube actually comes detached and can be removed from the bottle (or attached to the spout). I keep the tube out for using the bottle upside down. The tube's function is to lift liquid up from the bottom of the bottle, when using the bottle upright. When using the bottle upside down, the tube is best removed. **Q: Can this bottle hold acetone?** A: No it will not hold acetone for more than a week or so. The straw degrades and cracks, preventing the bottle from dispensing. **Q: Can this be used to dispense essential oils into bottles? Or will it dissolve the plastic?** A: These bottles are made of polyethylene, so depends on the oil. Otherwise, the seal connecting the inner downtube to the cap leaks, making it messy and inefficient to dispense oils. I would go with a higher grade product of the original design where the tube is molded into the bottle and attached to the outside.
