It can be refilled with plumbers putty. I have done this many times. I did not like using Fun-Tak by Loctite because it gets hard. no the right thickness. **Q: How do you take the plastic lid off, so that I can use the grippy part of the tool?** A: You pull it off. You don't twist it off or you will loosen the whole end. It's not as fragile as it seems. **Q: Can I use this for diamond painting?** A: Yes. It's awesome for diamond painting. That is what I use it for. Also, look on You Tube for a video of how to refill this tool. Very handy. **Q: could this tool pick up small screws that weigh 2.9 grams each from a bulk container? Do they sell larger pick up tools?** A: I use this tool for paper crafting to pick up small gems and other items, and I don't know if it would pick up the screws.
