The height of this lamp is quite sufficient and allows my hands ample free movement when working around my vises jaws. It’s not so low that the lamp head is an obstruction while tying. The various light intensities are a nice touch and the ability to change the lighting from warm to bright is a bonus. The lamp is quite stable even though while unpacking it I felt it may not be due to the lamp being so lightweight. It is not an issue as the base is long and wide enough to keep the lamp from tipping when adjusting the lamp for various lighting angles. I would have preferred an all metal lamp with less plastic but at this point this lamp has exceeded all others and it will stay with me for quite a long time.
