Did anybody else need to really"force" it in?** A: Mine screwed right in. Closely inspect the threads on your canner and this piece as well for burrs or other damage. If the canner threads look good you might want to exchange the part for a new one. If the threads on the canner are damaged you may be able to put them back in order using a thread chaser to correct it. Most plumbers and mechanics have these in their tool box.
