I did that so I could carry additional weight. Those two receivers are great quality and, I've tested them intensely by putting my 540 lb. Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT on them (and the original center receiver) on them and drove all around the country. Absolutely perfect! No evidence of any failure, fatigue, nothing.
