I suppose that closets were not popular then since many of the houses lack them. A few years ago I moved to a house built after I was born. Wow! Seeing a closet in every bedroom was like finding a patch of of wild blueberries in my back yard: Such a nice discovery. Imagine the convenience of being able to unpack and hang my shirts & pants in a nice closet! Oh, the convenience! But, one night, KABOOM!!! I thought: What the heck was that loud crash??? The shelves had collapsed; my stuff had crashed to the floor. This happened sequentially in one room after another. There was no kitty to blame, either. I know what you are thinking: that I am a complete idiot. I admit it, I should have checked how well the shelves were constructed and attached. My bad. Whomever installed them didn't have a clue... There were a max of two brackets per closet. No exaggeration. Home improvement is not my forte; my parents did not believe in teaching girls anything practical or useful. In school I was forced to take Home Economics. If ever there were a subject completely lacking in merit, Home Ec was it! Thus, I checked Amazon's Home Improvement listings for shelving products. Lido makes a solid, heavy duty bracket. I had no shopping list since I am light in the common sense department. I ordered brackets to fortify every one of my closets. Nothing fancy - but good enough to accomplish the purpose. The order arrived right away. I even own a stud finder. (No, I don't mean a computer dating site). Upon opening the cardboard box containing the brackets I could not believe my eyes!! NO SCREWS???? Maybe I am anal, or maybe it is my yearning for order in the universe - but don't send me components for my home improvement project without the ESSENTIALS. "MR. LIDO - WHERE ARE MY SCREWS???" Well, you ask - why do I say MISTER Lido? My reply, (it is so obvious): No self respecting woman would charge that kind of money for a bracket bereft of the essential components needed to install it. That is like selling a lock without keys! You install it, and the next morning when you are leaving for work and go to lock the door, guess what? You discover the keys were not included. The package didn't clue you in, either. Well, that is my most recent Home Improvement allegory.
