If was a little loose on our grandson that was 5. The two that are 3 it very loose.The chin strap helps. It's a great helmet and jersey. The 3 grandsons love them.You can maybe modify it by adding pads. I could wear the helmet. **Q: what youth size is the jersey?** A: Hello! the measurements are as follow. Waist 22"-25", Chest 25"-29", and height 48"-54". **Q: What size should i get for my seven-year-old son? he has a bigger head. should i get the medium or the large?** A: I believe the helmet is the same size no matter what, but if there's a size option it's for the jersey. I am a 46 yo male with a rather large head (7 1/2 hat size) and can actually fit the helmet on my head (although it looks ridiculous) but my pretty normal headed 9 yo son can wear it as well. There is foam in it and the chin strap helps make up any wiggle room.
