There's no way on earth that the coffee will stay hot because there's nothing "thermal" about this. I always put scalding hot water in the carafe just before putting the coffee in it (I dump the water, of course) and even our older carafe (same brand) keeps the coffee hot for most of the day (at least until dinner). This one that we just received yesterday must be defective because there's only one wall, NOT a double wall vacuum and the coffee was cold even before lunch! I'm not a happy camper.
