My gardenis 6mx 6.5m so relatively and i can see each fountain from the living room. From the images you will see I have used 3 different kind of cantainri copper preserving pan champagne bucket, and 'concrete' flowerpots. I had some problem these waterproof, in the end using waterproof impact glue and plastic from a compost bag, both top and bottom. I used the single 'pole' about 5 cm tall, choosing this so that the spray did not get blown out of the container. The champagne bucket is the most successful because it has the well below and lasts longer before topping up . It is raised up from the found by 2 cylindrical flower pot so 75 cm from the ground .I am am using it as the centre piece of a collection of pots. I top up each fountain each day when I water the flowers . They are solar and should a cloud go over head or you make a shadow with your hand the water virtually stops- The stones are for birds to use. I am particuallypleased because birds are attracted.. So far it is 2 fat pigeons, 2 collar does and 2 sparrows, previously I had no visitors. They are small fountains and work well, but don't expect too much of them........or the weather! In heavy weather I found the bulk of the fountain had sunk and the foam ring floating on the surface. Easy to put back together, but the fountain wasn't working. . There is a a filter, and this needs cleaning (every so often snd before winter storage.Hadn't seen it before. I had the same problem. Mine ended up in the bin. I was told I'd get a refund by the seller, but never did. Awful service, awful product. Avoid!!!! **Q: Can anyone tell me why mine wont stay stuck to the bottom. Tried everything, it floats ok but the water is spilling out** A: I have tried a couple of types of these pumps, and water spilling out and emptying a birdbath-sized vessel is a general problem not really the fault of the manufacturer, though nevertheless militating against my intended use. I found though that this type works better than the cheaper ones, is less liable to float to the edge of the bath in shallow water and has usefully more power than the 1.6 W ones. In shallow water too you can stop them floating to the side by placing a few small cobblestones around them to hem them in. This type also has the reassurance that the motor will stop running if the water gets low. I have tried various heads, but the more spectacular results from the spray or single jet ones, though the most impressive, were exactly the ones most likely to empty the bath. I finally settled on using the cup attachment to which the various spray heads can be fitted but leaving its top open. This gave quite a satisfying low spillover effect which tends not to leak over the side, even in a bit of a wind. Its a shame that they don't make an ornamental spillover attachment for these: an open-topped flower shape or a through-the-mouth gargoyle could be quite effective and worth paying extra for; and, if they were weighty, they might also assist in holding the pumps down for those owners who want them for bird-baths and don't want them to float. I've ordered two more pumps after the final bit of success with this type and am fairly confident that I shall now be able to have several fairly stable fountains running in my garden. **Q: What's the minimum depth of water** A: Hi it will operate on the depth of the solar panel together with the suckers etc. underneath, approx 2ins **Q: Does the battery back up mean it works with no sun?** A: Yes, it can last almost 2 hours. As soon as I opened it, I put it in the water and the water feature began. It works as soon as enough light is there. I really like this addition to our decking area. The sound of the water is so restful. However just one niggle.
