**Q: what does the NI stand for, and what is the insulation factor 400 gram 800 gram ???**
A: NI refers to non insulated.  Not sure what your asking about insulation factor.  I use my NI when doing a lot of hiking and moving in cold weather and have never had cold feet.  If I am sitting up for a few hours in temps around 20 to 30 I have not noticed any cold feet either.  If your going to be in weather colder and planning to not move around much I would suggest a 400 gram with a high quality pair of wool socks.  Best mountain Elk hunting boots I've ever owned hands down.

**Q: Are these boots steel toe or composite toe?**

A: Ours are, I can't speak for what amazon does.

**Q: These are great boots. I ordered 10.5 which is correct for length. They are very tight with heavy socks. Will they stretch in the middle oncebroke in?**
A: Very little stretch due to the rubber sole that comes up around your feet. These are the best boots I have ever had, so I would make the effort to get the correct size so you can enjoy them for many years.
