There are many books about our National Parks, but the Images of America series are at such a high standard with expertly curated photos and captions that provide such a deep and rich history of the topic being covered. The GSMNP is not exception and provides great insight into the most visited NP in the system.

I just love this book.  It is full of history of The Great Smoky Mountain National Park.  It includes loads of photos with descriptions.  I found it to be a fascinating pictorial of the area from late 1800's to 1960's.  I have a rental cabin in the Sevierville area that I bought this book for, and I think our guests will really enjoy it.

I love these moderately short, pictorial history books! I have read many books about Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. Some even first hand accounts. I was able to make connections with many of those stories to the pictures in this book, including many AHA moments when I realized what I was looking at.I do recommend this book as a companion to almost any other book aboutvthe area.
