Recommended! Should be an impulse buy!
All 5 of my lights arrived in working condition, and I would recommend the product. I bought these myself.I was looking for groomsman gifts, which lead me to finding these. My brother in law had gifted us these really fancy wind-up skeleton pocket watches. That was a cool gift, but I could not bring myself to carry it around because it looked so nice, it required daily maintenance to have some accuracy, and ultimately it wasn't convenient. I set it somewhere and sadly I have no idea where it is after I moved homes. For my groomsmen (my wedding's one week from today!), I wanted something they could use every day, something practi-cool!Eventually I found the small Swiss Army Signature Lite, the small folding knife, scissors, file and screwdriver, pen, and a little LED light. My grandfather once said you should ALWAYS carry a pen (which I have found to be true), but I've found all the other tools to be frequently useful as well. However, there is also a Signature model without the LED Lite that is $15 cheaper (I have 5 groomsmen) and people complain that the light is pretty dim. I use a Photon Micro light at work every day, looking inside computers and ports, and looking for my keyhole to my front door every night. Looking through Amazon for a keychain light that could be better than the one inside the SAK Signature Lite, I found these Finware LEDs. I'll attach the SAK and Finware keychains, put them inside funny fancy socks, and bestow my manly "ready to party" kits to the grooms! Maybe some of them will even look well-groomed enough to find a date, HA!Compared to my Photon Micro I use for work, these Finware are about the same size-of a quarter (more "fin" shaped), almost as bright, has a slightly cooler/bluer color light, split-ring instead of mini carabiner, and the same small plastic switch for "locking" on the light (far easier to switch if you push it while not holding the light's big "on" button). The Photon is slightly too bright for close-up work, both can help you find your way at night, the Photon's spot is barely visible outdoors during the day. Functionally, it's PERFECT as a small add-on to the small pocket knife, in fact it gives your pinky and ring finger something to grip while the knife is out, and the set stays securely in the coin pocket of pants. Did I mention I got one for each groomsmen and saved $65 in the process? I'm not sure if it's less expensive to buy batteries or just buy another 5-pack of these lights, but the Finware do have 4 Phillips screws and I assume you can change the batteries... probably get like 12 hours of continuous use of the batteries, that's typical for this type of light, but they feel like they last for ever because you only ever use them for a moment at a time.Maybe you wouldn't use this light to blind an attacker, or light up a walking trail at night (it can show a spot on the ground but not a wide area or much distance), but it's the perfect tool light for utility tasks or making yourself visible, a polite light for reading or a run to the bathroom, it's small enough to be carried all the time, battery lasts a long time and won't drain if you stash a few of these for emergencies, and cheap enough that I'd recommend them as an impulse buy. I added it to my wishlist, so if I need to spend few more bucks to get free shipping on an order or just want some lights to gift I can buy another pack. Recommended for everyday carry!Photos:First is the Finware mini LED under my orange-y brown blanket.Second is under the same blanket, with the Finware light on top and the Photon Micro's beam below. I find the Photon has a more concentrated central hotspot (this is good and bad), and has a more natural white color but the Finware's color is more uniform and the hotspot is evenly round.

Really bright!
Having seen these tiny flashlights used in several survival kit videos, I bought some to include in a couple of my own kits. I have compared them to the Streamlight NANO. While the NANO has a much wider beam, it is yellowish and relatively dimmer than the LED Keychain Flashlight. The advantages of this LED Keychain Flashlight are: 1) It is incredibly bright for its size. 2) Because the bulb sticks out from the housing, it can be seen from the side, which makes it much more useful for signaling for rescue in the dark. Swing it around from a cord, and it should be visible from a great distance. 3) Price, because I got five of these tiny flashlights for the price of a single nano!Having said that, I do not know anything about their battery life, because I just received them. I will put two of them into small and medium survival kits to be carried on our outings. (Of course, a "survival kit" is something you hope you never need to use; but also hope you have with you, and in fully functional condition when you really do need it!) So, perhaps in a year or so, I'll be able to get back to you on the battery life situation. At my age, night vision is becoming a problem. But that's a personal issue. For those who get into activities where preserving your night vision is a concern, you might want to cover your flashlight with a red or blue plastic filter: red for moving through heavy undergrowth in a forest or reading maps, or blue for astronomical charts when using an astronomical telescope, looking at star-charts / planispheres, or doing astro-photography. In either case, you'd need to rig a way to attach the plastic to the bulb of this little flashlight. And because you get five of these lights in a pack, you can afford to experiment with covering the bulb without worry of damaging one of them. All in all, I am really impressed with the quality of these flashlights. There are four screws holding the battery cover in place, and though I have not yet opened it, it looks like it takes a standard CR2025 button battery. So, at the moment, YES I would recommend these flashlights for general purpose use for work close up, or in tight spaces, for your keyring, and for inclusion in small Altoid to ESEE - size survival kits.

Nice pocket light for every day carry
Great little keychain light for every day carry. This light is very handy for little tasks in the dark. The dual modes for a quick button push or flip a switch for persistent light are very helpful. I use this for everything from checking the mailbox when I get home from work late, to hooking up the camper at night, to getting off trail when I go a little too far into the night.I doubt the "can be seen for a mile" and "very bright" statements. This light is bright enough to do small chores in from of you, but it's probably around 20 lumens tops? It's enough to see and negotiate roots on a trail 4-5 feet in front of you in a pinch when you're not wearing your headlamp. Most cellphones have brighter "flashlights".Obviously I can't validate the 100,000 hours, but halfway doubt that too. However with that said I purchased my first pack over 18 months ago and none have run out of battery. I actually purchased a couple more packs for Christmas trinkets for extended friends and family this year and to add another to my first aid kit to replace the light I had been issuing as my mini light because I feel I can now trust this light will operate as a reliable backup light in emergency needs. Also, this could provide enough light for hanging in the tent and playing some cards.Overall good little light!
